Whether you spend Valentine's day with your significant other, your best friend or alone the day can go in one of two ways: it can be a great day or a total disaster. Here are a few ideas of things to do so you can have the best day.
1. Throw A Valentine's Day Tea Party
One of my favourite things to do is throw a party. So on Valentine's day why not throw a tea party? Invite your favourite pals, cut sandwiches in little heart shapes, bake red velvet cupcakes and most importantly choose your favourite Tease Tea to serve it to your guests.
A good alternative to this is to throw a wine and cheese party. I mean, everybody likes a good wine and cheese night once in a while.
Whichever you choose to do just make sure you invite your best friends and have a good time.
2. On Valentine's Day Take Care Of Yourself
Valentine's day is not only about showing other people you love them. It's also about self-love. Do something for yourself. Take the day off and watch rom-com movies all day (or horror movies depending on your mood). In addition to that, you could make a homemade face mask like suggested here. Another option is to just make a cup of your favourite tea and meditate.
3. Plan Your Valentine's Day At The Spa
Whether it is with someone or alone you can spend Valentine's day at the spa. I find this very calming and it just makes me feel so re-energized. Get a massage or only go in the hot baths and saunas. Either way, you will come back home feeling at peace.
Another alternative is to have your own little spa day at home. Take a bubble bath, pour yourself your favourite wine, make a face mask and relax.
4. The Classic, Going Out For Valentine's Day
Depending on how you're feeling this Valentine's day you can either go out to get a drink or eat at a restaurant or just do a fun activity outdoors.
I suggest going ice skating. Especially if you live in Ottawa, you can go to the Rideau Canal. It's free and there are a lot of spots where you can eat or just get hot chocolate. Go during the day or at night to make it a little bit more romantic.
My last tip would be: Don't think too much of it. Of course, you can plan your day in advance if you feel like it. But if you don't it's also okay. Do whatever you feel like doing, but most importantly; take care of yourself.
