tease is proud to now be a certified Benefit Corporation.
As of 2021, following an 18th month journey we are honoured to join social impact brands like Patagonia, Eileen Fisher & Allbirds in becoming Canada's first Certified B-Corp tea company.
What does it mean to be a certified B-corp?
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and nonprofits alone. The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high quality jobs with dignity and purpose. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment.
B Corps form a community of leaders and drive a global movement of people using business as a force for good. The values and aspirations of the B Corp community are embedded in the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence.

A letter from our founder:
When I started tease in 2013, my mission was simple: Source quality, playful tea blends to invest in your wellbeing & take a moment for yourself while supporting programs that invest in women.
It wasn’t long before I learned the power in creating and sourcing products that were fully aligned with our values, propelling us to do better business internally and to look for ingredients and suppliers that were not only the highest quality, but also adhered to the highest standards of ethics and sustainability.
Seven years later, we are proud to announce that we are a certified Benefit Corporation, meeting the highest standards of social and environmental verified performance, transparency and accountability.
Here’s how we’re continuing to make positive impact with every cup:
- Our ingredients are sourced exclusively from Ethical Tea Partnership members
- Our tea bags are fully biodegradable
- Our packaging is made from recyclable material (with 100% biodegradable options coming in late 2021!)
- In 2019 we started Founders Fund to fund, mentor and educate women in business (with over $100k in funding disrupted to date)
- Each season we commission a women artist to create our collectable postcards (found in every order)
- We support women led initiatives through sponsorships and partnerships
While we are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made while becoming the first certified B-corp tea company in Canada - our motivation comes from you. Our customers.
Thank you for inspiring us to continue to strive to be the best we can.
