When we started looking into selling our Tease loose leaf in ready-to-use tea bags, we wanted to give you the same quality without compromising what we stand for. This is why we sought out our Canadian manufacturer whose values on sustainability and the environment aligned with ours. Our Canadian manufacturer uses innovative pyramid bag technology and feels that their footprint should not have an impact 400 years from now, and we agree. This is why we only sell 100% compostable and plant based pyramid bags.

Unbleached Tea Bags

Common tea bags are bleached with chlorine to make look white, which some find more appealing than unbleached grey tea bags. Leaving you exposed to toxic by-products and chemicals which cause harm when ingested. No one wants that steeping in their mugs, this is why we never bleach our pyramid bags.

Plastic Free Tea Bags

According to a British Government waste company the environmental impact of tea bags could easily be reduced if people started composting them. For the most part tea bags are compostable but there’s 30% which is not. To keep the tea bag from opening they sealed it with a strip of heat-resistant polypropylene plastic. Leaving this to collect in our landfills year after year. This is why Tease uses plant based materials (sugar cane & corn fibres) to make our pyramid bags, with no staples or plastic, leaving you with a biodegradable tea bag & no environmental guilt.

Fully Recyclable Packaging

All our tea packaging is made from recycled materials using 75% less waste than conventional manufacturing. Whenever possible, our team makes the effort to reduce our carbon footprint by hiring local businesses to support our co-packing, blending, and product manufacturing needs.
