Founder, Reshma Saujani started Girls Who Code over 6 years ago with one goal- to even the playing field. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever imagine it would become a movement that is nationwide and reached almost 90,000 girls of all backgrounds.
We are on track to achieve gender parity in computer science by 2027. And we know why: because our work is as much about quantity, as it is about quality. We scale our programs to reach more girls in more places, and give them the chance to forge lifelong bonds so they may persist in computer science.
Thanks to Girls Who Code are now coming together, joining forces from across the countryAnd working to correct century-long power imbalances across a wide range of lines including gender, race and sexuality. Any girl who is a part of Girls Who Code, will now have the tools to become a leader, empower their communities, friends and ultimately define the future of our world.
